Craig Schauermann and Bill Thayer joined to practice together as the law partnership of Schauermann and Thayer on June 11, 1986. So as of June 11, 2011, our law firm will have been in existence for 25 years at its present location of 1700 East Fourth Plain Boulevard in Vancouver, Washington.
In 1999 Jeff Jacobs was welcomed in as a partner (and the law firm incorporated) and the firm was renamed Schauermann, Thayer & Jacobs, P.S.
Scott Staples, who had already been a great help as a law clerk by then for about a year and a half, was hired by the firm as an associate attorney in 2007 and was made a partner as of January 1, 2011.
With the growth of the firm an expansion of our law office building became necessary. After a year or more of planning and retooling of drafts to obtain a zoning code variance from the City of Vancouver, the expansion and remodel effort gradually was completed. Now, we finally have enough office space for all four of the firm's attorneys and the additional 8 part-time and full-time employees that help us operate to serve our clients capably and efficiently on a day to day basis.
At Schauermann Thayer Jacobs Staples & Edwards PS, we are proud of the hard work we have put in over the years, working as a team, to benefit our clients and friends in the Southwest Washington/Portland metropolitan area. We look around now and realize that we are one of the oldest firms still operating with its original partners intact in this area. We are grateful to have had the opportunity over the past 25 years to serve literally thousands of clients who needed help with their legal issues arising from automobile accidents, motorcycle and bicycle accident cases, pedestrian injury, dog bite, and other injury claims, insurance questions, and other matters within our field of expertise.
As a side note that may be of some interest to local history buffs, we understand that our building was originally a gas station, operated as a branch of “The Humble Oil Company”, somewhere back in the mid-1900s.
